We can’t say we’ve done very well with our underdog betting picks this weekend, but hopefully getting back to our usual “comfort zone” will help us help you once again. It’s a new and exciting matchweek in UEFA Champions League football, and today we’ll be seeing Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea among others battling it out to reach “European Spring”.
There are eight exciting football matches today, but after careful consideration and analysis we’re feeling pretty good about the following picks from Unibet’s offering:
Galatasaray – CFR Cluj pick: Galatasaray 1.65 odds
Despite the Romanian champions getting to a fantastic start in their Champions League group, they look pretty bad right now, following a string of negative results in their national league. Meanwhile, Galatasaray is playing its last qualifying card today and needs all three points to remain in contention for second place. These, combined with Galata’s superior team, should undoubtedly lead to a home win.
Lille – Bayern pick: Bayern 1.42 odds
It’s very easy to run out of adjectives when describing Bayern’s Bundesliga form this season. Phenomenal? Yes, sir. Fantastic? Indeed. However, the Germans have quite surprisingly lost against Bate Borisov in the second matchweek of Champions League, so there’ll be no mercy for Lille, a team that’s doing poorly in Ligue 1 (only 12th place).
Manchester United – Braga pick: United 1.38 odds
You might think that Sir Alex Ferguson’s lads might get relaxed after two consecutive wins in their group, but after last year’s disappointment there’s no place for relaxation. Braga is definitely a dangerous side, but it’ll have its work cut out in front of Van Persie, Rooney and all the other Man U stars.
Spartak Moscow – Benfica double chance 1X, 1.54 odds
Playing in Russia in the fall/winter season is never easy, but when you’re doing it against a side that’s as desperate to win as Spartak you are in for a really tough match. The Russian team has been playing poorly for the last few months, but a home win against Benfica would help it get back on the right track. But can the Portuguese have something to say about that? Probably, although they might be happy getting away with a draw and keeping their third place in the group.
